Motivasjon for forslag som fremmes på NRR’s general forsamling 5. - 7. mars 2010

Ragdollklubben Scandinavian Ragdoll Club (SRC) med noen frontpersoner har i flere måneder arbeidet med endringer på Ragdollstandarden.
Norske og Svenske oppdrettere har sammen arbeidet frem forslaget som i dag legges frem for dere.
I 2006 fremmet NRR, på vegne av Norske og Svenske oppdrettere i SRC, forslag for FIFe’s GF om endringer på Ragdollstandarden og forslaget ble bifalt.
I dag, fire år etter, ser vi at Ragdollens standard enda er noe mangelfull og vi ønsker å fremme et nytt forslag til endringer av standarden.

Diskusjonen blant oppdrettere, utstillere og dommere går ofte på vår 03 variant, og dens mengde med hvitt, samt utseende på variantens hvite bliss.
Etter lange diskusjoner mellom oppdrettere i Norge og Sverige har vi blitt enige om en tekst på bicolourvariantens hvite bliss. Se tekst i forslaget.

Bicolourvarianten er en 03 variant, og flere raser i EMS systemet har 03 varianter.
Ragdollvarianten avviker en del fra flere andre 03 varianter og derfor ønsker vi å endre vår 03 variant til 06. Foruten forslaget vedrørende variantens hvite bliss ønsker vi ingen endring på vår bicolourvariant.
Videre har vi et forslag til endring på dagens standard vedr. hode da vi mener dagens tekst er mangelfull. Se tekst i forslag.

Mittedvarianten 04 har blitt en meget populær variant av rasen og fargefeil med strimer/runners bak på forbena er dessverre blitt et problem.
Vi ønsker derfor å få inn ny tekst for å fastslå at dette ikke er ønskelig.

De fleste raser har en FAULT liste og mange av disse feilene er overflødige om kattens standard er godt nok beskrevet.
Ragdolloppdrettere/utstillere ønsker derfor å stryke dagens FAULT liste slik den fremstår i dag. Flere av punktene under FAULT listen er ikke ønskelige, men vi anser dem ikke som direkte feil.
Vi ønsker at disse Ragdollene skal kunne stilles ut, men de skal utelukkes fra nominasjon til Best in show panel. De kan ikke oppnå høyere poengsum enn 95 og tittelen IC/IP


Om ikke FIFe’s delgater kan bifalle vårt forslag vedr. 95 poeng, ønsker vi at den gamle FAULT listen i sin helhet utgår og ny FAULT liste blir bifalt.
Derfor følger to forslag på dette punkt med kun forskjell vedr. 95 poeng på FAULT listen.

Vi ser verdien av å informere så mange som mulig av komitémedlemmer i SJC og BRC, FIFe dommere og oppdrettere innen FIFe om vårt endringsforslag på Ragdollen.

Motivation for the proposal to be submitted on NRR's General Assembly Mars 5-7th 2010

The Scandinavian Ragdoll Club (SRC) with a few persons in the front have for several months been working on changes to the Ragdoll standard. Norwegian and Swedish breeders have worked together on the proposal that is hereby presented to you.

In 2006 NRR, on behalf of Norwegian and Swedish breeders in the SRC, promoted a proposal of changes to the Ragdoll standard to FIFe’s General Assembly. Our proposal was endorsed. Today, four years later, we see that the Ragdoll standard is still somewhat incomplete and we want to promote a new proposal.

The discussion among breeders, exhibitors and judges is often concerning the 03 variant and it’s quantity of white, as well as the appearance of the variant’s white blaze.
After long discussions between breeders in Norway and Sweden, we agree on a text on the bicolour variant’s white blaze. View the text in the proposal.

The bicolour is a 03 variant, and several breeds in the EMS system have 03 variants.
The Ragdoll variant deviates somewhat from other 03 variants, and therefore we want to change our 03 variant to 06. Apart from our proposal regarding the bicolour variants white blaze we want no other changes in our bicolour variant text. See the proposal and motivation.

Furthermore, we have a proposal for changing the current standard regarding the head as we think the current text is deficient. See text of proposal.

The mitted variant 04 has become a very popular variant of the breed and colour errors with streams / runners on the back of the front legs have unfortunately become a problem.
We would therefore like to bring in a new text to emphasis that this is not desirable.

Most breeds have a FAULT list and many of these errors/faults are unnecessary to list if the breed standard otherwise is well described.
Ragdoll breeders/exhibitors would therefore like to delete the current FAULT list as it appears today.
Several of the points under the current FAULT list are not desirable, but we do not regard them directly as errors.
We wish that Ragdolls that have faults that are described in the FAULT list to be exhibited, but they should be excluded from nomination to Best in show panel.
Our proposal is that such cats can not achieve a score higher than 95 points and the title of IC / IP.

If the FIFe representatives can not approve our proposal regarding the 95 points for FAULT cats, we wish that the old FAULT list in its entirety shall be deleted and new FAULT list is endorsed. Therefore, two proposals follows with the only difference concerning the 95 points on the FAULT list.

We acknowledge the importance and value of informing committee members of SJC and BRC, FIFe judges and breeders about our proposed changes to the Ragdoll standard.
